Reports to Human Resources Benefits and Compensation Manager
This position will ensure the company's policies and procedures remain compliant with ever-evolving regulatory changes, protecting the organization from legal risks, and promoting a positive and fair workplace environment. This position must have a strong commitment to ethical practices and integrity. Pay meticulous attention to legal and regulatory details and effectively communicate to support and educate teams on compliance matters.
Job Responsibilities
* Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Office of Federal Contracts and Compliance (OFCCP), and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
* Maintain, audit, recommend and implement employment policy or procedural changes to maintain compliance with labor laws and best practices.
* Work collaboratively with HR Managers to ensure that company policies (e.g., anti-harassment, discrimination, workplace safety) are enforced consistently.
* Design and deliver educational programs to team members on HR compliance topics such as business ethics and OFCCP.
* Lead and/or support internal and external auditing processes.
* Partner with legal counsel to address complex compliance issues.
* Prepare and submit necessary reports and filings required by regulatory agencies.
* Ensure proper document control relative to the area of responsibility.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, compliance, and/or legal roles, preferably with a focus on employment law and policy enforcement.
* Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
* Must possess a deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, compliance best practices, and risk management.
* Strong analytical, investigating, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
