The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional service to all employees; this position remains the main point of contact for all employees at the plant location. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for following and implementing all HR functions, policies, and procedures. This position will support the Corporate Human Resources Department in all day-to-day operations including: payroll, benefits, recruitment, wellness, employee relations, communication, safety and all other duties as assigned.How you can contribute to the team:
Payroll - Responsible for processing payroll for hourly employees and truck drivers along with general payroll administration for salaried employeesTimely completion of all new hire documentation, including attachment in HR systemWeekly timecard review and submittalCompletion of status change forms and review of pay change, attendance bonus and personal day payout spreadsheets to ensure accuracy of employee payEmployee termination processRecruitment - Responsible for hiring, onboarding and orientation of new employees to ensure facility is fully staffedAdvertise open positions appropriatelySource and screen qualified applicantsSchedules all pre-employment screening for candidatesCompletes new hire onboarding and orientationTrack recruitment progress and costs for all plant staff openingsBenefits - Responsible for the administration of all benefits enrollment and leaves of absenceManages all leaves of absence including STD, FMLA, Non-FMLA and Worker's CompensationSupports and assists benefits enrollment, changes and issues especially during open enrollmentMonitor and assist employees in new hire and qualifying event Life Events completion.Works with corporate HR to answer questions and resolve problems, as neededMaintains basic knowledge and understanding of benefits, COBRA, qualifying events, etc.Wellness - Responsible for administering wellness initiatives for employees at the facilityInforms employees of wellness incentivesCommunicates and encourages participation in company wellness challengesManages spring wellness screenings for the entire plant facilityEnsure wellness screening enrollment is completed timely for new hiresEmployee Relations - Responsible for supporting employees and plant management in resolving employee relations issues and assisting in conflict resolutionField employee complaints and work to resolve issues to the extent possibleProperly document corrective actions, including attaching signed corrective actions in HR systemCommunicate and work with corporate HR and Legal to resolve employee relations issues that are complex or have legal risk considerationsCommunication - Responsible for actively listening and communicating with plant management, employees, Safety, Corporate HR and Legal.Help employees understand policies, procedures and cultureBe available to employees for questions, including periodically for off shiftsCommunicate with Corporate HR - employees on leave, questions, issues, concerns, policy exception requests, abuse of policies, compliance concerns, challenges, etc.Communicate and distribute information as requested by Corporate HR, Safety and LegalSafety - Supports plant leadership to ensure all safety policies and procedures are being implemented and followedMaintains OSHA logs and required monthly reporting in IntelexAssists with incident investigationsRecords employee safety training and safety rewards activitiesReports and follows-up on all Workers Compensation claimsGeneral HR AdministrationCreates and maintain month-end reportsMaintain accurate employee information in HR systemReview and ensure completion of hourly performance appraisals, including attaching in HR systemAccurate and timely entry of employee termination, including attaching separation form in HR systemKeep legal notice postings up to dateServes as back-up Office Assistant as requiredHere's what is needed to be successful:
- Prefer an Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Management, or other related field
- 2-3 years experience in Human Resources field required, as well as knowledge of the basic Human Resource functions and the laws
- Bilingual strongly preferred
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Organization skills a must
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to travel
