HR Coordinator/Reception
We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic HR Coordinator/Receptionist to join our growing Des Plaines Team!

Responsibilities:
* Schedule telephone and in person interviews between candidates, the Human Resources staff and hiring managers
* Assemble and update new hire packages including offer letters and ensure all related Human Resources documentation and forms are current
* Process background checks
* Prepare final termination paperwork for departing staff members.
* Prepare and track disciplinary warnings to be issued by HR manager or Unit Manager.
* Prepare status change forms and letters (wage notification and cover letters)
* Track probationary periods of new hires and update managers
* Recover unreturned company property including badges and uniforms
* Complete external and internal requests for information such as unemployment benefits claims, housing notifications, and employment letters.
* Create new employee files and remove terminated ones
* Maintain attendance calendars
* Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook
* Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team
* Assist staff with attendance, payroll, benefits and general inquiries and work towards resolving any discrepancies with Human Resources Manager and Payroll Manager.
* Assist with creating and distribution of internal memos and other internal communications to employees.
* Greet and welcome clients and visitors to the office
* Assist with billing and invoicing
* Maintain a clean and organized reception area
* Assist with airline visitors with prepping conference rooms and assisting during the airline presentation
* Perform special and ongoing projects as requested
Qualifications:
* A minimum of 1-2 years related administrative experience in a Human Resources Department of small to mid-sized organization.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
* Excellent organizational skills
* Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
* Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
* Ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment and use initiative.
* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
* Spanish skills a plus
* Hands-on approach
