The HR Field Services Manager is an HR subject matter expert and collaborates with Leadership to help guide and support business results, focusing on leadership & talent development, talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations. The HR Field Services Manager ensures all HR policies, procedures, and initiatives in the field run effectively. HR Field Services Manager is directly responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with the overall coordination and administration of the human resource functions throughout the company.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe deliverables for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Strategic partnership with Business
  • Build relationship with field leadership to include, Head of Operations, District Managers and General Managers and Team Leads in the company, providing strategic counsel, feedback, and coaching to field leadership.
  • Provide counsel, coaching, and creative solutions that enhance individual and organizational performance.
  • Participate in business leadership meetings as a strategic partner to identify human resource implications.
  • Work systematically to diagnose problems, analyze data, identify root causes, and recommend solutions for HR related business issues. Develop creative and innovative solutions for improvement.
  • Visit club locations on a regular basis independently, with field leadership and HR team members to identify trends and issues, provide guidance and coaching to club leaders on all HR related and people related activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnership with corporate functions from HR to Loss Prevention and Legal, acting as a two-way conduit of information and influence between corporate and the field.
Talent Management / People Planning / Organizational Development
  • Work closely with regional and district business leaders to help create, implement and manage the people strategies to align with business objectives.
  • Co-lead the talent management/succession planning process for the company field leadership.
  • Partner with regional and district business leaders to develop plans to address short term and long-term talent needs for region.
  • Develop, monitor, and educate field leadership on staffing methodology, sourcing tactics, diversity, and selection process to improve the flow, quality, and selection of job candidates.
  • Facilitate and/or oversee training on new company programs and HR trainings.
  • Develop and implement management practices to ensure organization effectiveness, clear communication, sound employee relations, and development of team members.
  • Participate in selection process of all district level positions and oversee all club management positions.
  • Lead and support company change management initiatives and serve as a catalyst to ensure changes are implemented with appropriate attention on the change process and people element.
Compliance / Investigations / Employee Relations
  • Work with HR Director, legal counsel and field leadership to maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local employment laws (e.g. ERISA, EEO, ADA, Worker's Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour, FLSA, Unemployment/EDD, background checks, and I-9 documentation).
  • Act as company representative in resolving any agency complaints related to employment law compliance issues.
  • Interpret and communicate company policies, as well as laws at all levels for field team.
  • Support management with disciplinary process and all employee separations to minimize potential liability.
  • Conduct investigations pertaining to Department of Labor, EEOC, unemployment, harassment, and discrimination complaints in accordance with company guidelines as well as directives by company Legal counsel.
  • May represent VASA Fitness in EEOC mediations and investigations.
  • Provide counsel to team members and leadership on employee relation concerns.
Talent Assessment
  • Support field leadership in interviewing general manager and district manager level positions to provide assessment and calibration with hiring decisions.
  • Partner with company talent acquisition specialist to help the field leadership team to ensure the recruitment process is effective and creating a strong candidate experience.
Voice of the Field.
  • Gathers data and identifies trends in the field.
  • Collaborates with field Leaders and senior leaders to create the appropriate talent management trainings, processes, and procedures that will support VASA employees and business needs.
Supports HR initiatives.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with operations and field leaders incorporating talent and workforce planning, legal and ethical compliance, leadership development and support in new markets.
  • Supports new club opening HR standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • 4-7 years of HR experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in an HR related field or business management required
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word. Intermediate experience with Excel using summations, pivot tables, and v-look up functions.
  • Knowledge of effective HR practices, methods and processes in all areas including recruiting and selection, compensation and benefits, employment law and employee relations, performance management, and training and development.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and requirements related to HR including ERISA, EEO, LOAs, ADA, Worker's Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour and others.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic working relationships with leaders and act as a strategic partner on all people related decisions.
  • Thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining focus on delivering strategic objectives and executing day to day requirements.
  • Works independently setting own priorities and objectives with supervisory consultation.
  • Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and delegating effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired results.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidentiality information
  • Ability to travel 20%
