FUNCTION OF THE JOB: The Human Resources Generalist supports operating units by implementing human resources programs and is a resource for performance management, human resources services, employee relations, retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations and completing personnel transactions. Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action. Fosters teamwork, cross functional communication, personal growth and accountability.

- Bealls Logistics, IS, Transportation, Loss Prevention and Payroll Department
- Direct interaction with Logistics Associates, Supervisors and Managers
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Essential Functions):
- Acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
- Conducts daily meetings with respective client groups.
- Consults with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Manages company's responses to unemployment claims to ensure successful results.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Partners with Recruiting department in developing contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
- Conducts exit interviews with employees leaving the company to assess overall success of employment relationship and opportunities for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years Human Resources or Operations experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Fundamental knowledge of human resource management and knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate logically and clearly in a group or individual setting.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel & Power Point.
- General experience with HRIS (Oracle, Kronos) & ATS (Taleo) system preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements
- Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations.
- Goal oriented and customer focused with ability to exercise great initiative independent judgment.
