Under general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, serve as HR Analyst supporting departments within CPE. Identify, evaluate, and address HR and risk management issues for approximately 1/2 of CPE 180+ staff & academic employees. Serve as resource to employees/supervisors in the areas of contract and policy interpretation and compliance, probationary monitoring, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, conflict management, progressive discipline and terminations, classification/compensation and health & welfare benefits.Apply By Date : December 30, 2024 at 11:59pm Minimum Qualifications For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license, certification and/or educational degree if required of the position.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience interpreting, adhering to, and applying policies/procedures, regulations and laws, in a university and collective bargaining environment.
- In-depth experience and knowledge of principles and practices of the full body of knowledge in Human Resources Management and working in a variety of HR functional areas including, employee relations, classification, recruitment and selection, compensation, documentation, performance management, and integrated leaves of absence.
- Experience in conflict and crisis situations, using sensitivity as well as firmness to meet the needs of the situation and minimize risk.
- Experience using analytical skills to research and interpret data and policy, contribute to solutions, forecast the impact of potential actions, develop logical conclusions and/or recommend solutions.
- Experience working with human resource sensitive data and to discern level of confidentiality and keep appropriate information confidential.
- Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, online, and via email, with a diverse group of staff, students and clientele in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with California labor law, policies and practices.
- Experience developing and presenting division-wide training to management and staff.
- Experience with UC Davis policies and procedures and collective bargaining contracts for staff, students and academic appointments.
- Skills to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically, firmly and to work effectively and sensitively with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
