We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team and implement various human resources programs. HR Generalists have a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from recruiting & hiring to onboarding and from benefit administration to processing payroll. If you have a passion for HR, are familiar with state and federal labor laws, enjoy working in a manufacturing setting this is the place to be. Your role as an HR Generalist will be far from one-dimensional. You will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. You will be using the Human Resources Information System - Workforce Now by ADP to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You will function as the main point of contact for employees' queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure the HR department's operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole. Responsibilities
- Assist with administration of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form as required assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality of all records.
- Brief executive team on important HR issues as they arise.
- Review, correct and update employee time & attendance data, for release to the payroll system.
- Timely and accurately processing of Bi-weekly Payroll.
- Administer compensation and benefit plans.
- Perform all recruiting functions
- Coordinate hiring process, to include conducting background and reference checks, negotiating salary offers, and preparing job confirmation letters and other communications in coordination with supervisory managers.
- Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives.
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leave policies and compensation and resolve any issues as they may arise.
- Administration of workers' compensation and unemployment claims. Interaction with insurance company to pro-actively manage claims.
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Assist in development, implementation, education, and enforcement of human resource policies.
- Assisting in and monitoring employee disciplinary actions.
- Develop a performance management program to include a performance review schedule for all employee levels.
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like hours & overtime worked, leave usage, employee turnover rates.
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, educating employees about current and planned benefits.
- Assisting in the development of HR programs that can build morale or increase employee performance
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations including COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, OSHA, Wage and Hour laws and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Continuing education to stay current on trends and developments in this critical area.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Organizational skills
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; Knowledge of ADP software for managing payroll and benefits a plus.
- Ability to write documents such as policies, job descriptions, and recruiting announcements.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail with strong follow up skills
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Ability to understand position requirements to enhance ability to recruit qualified candidates.
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Desire to work as part of a team with a results driven approach.
- Passion for excellence a plus!
- BS/BA in Business Administration or Human Resources, at least four years of relevant experience and education.
- Human Resource Certification Preferred.
