This position requires high-level organization and communication skills to build relationships through engagement activities within the three-shift manufacturing facility. The goal of the HR Generalist is to support the employee and labor relations to further position HR as a strategic business partner.Implement and administer effective programs spanning the breadth of the HR function including labor/employee relations, onboarding, recruitment/employment, policy implementation, training, benefit administration and employment law compliance. Manage workers' compensation claims by filing first report of injuries and coordinating return to work. Support team members with disability and FMLA claims by partnering with the third-party disability carrier. Assist the HR Leader in the daily management of union production team members and provide support to managers and supervisors regarding labor/employee relations matters across all three shifts. Investigates employee complaints, making the HR Leader and management aware of such complaints and ensuring timely and equitable resolution. Act as a site champion to promote activities that enhance engagement for the facility through actions and initiatives. Utilize HRIS platforms for typical data entry, reporting, tracking and full-cycle personnel file management. Lead recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel, temporary employees; facilitates pre-hire employment activities and new-employee orientations and onboarding. Other duties as assigned.RequirementsMinimum of 3 years work experience in Human Resources. Ability to function well with minimal supervision and considerable independence. Ability to understand business practices and human resources management, analyze problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to effectively communicate with management and coworkers and interact respectfully with all levels of the organization. Must adapt easily to changing priorities, function well in a fast-paced environment, and handle a high degree of confidential information. Demonstrated computer literacy, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions. Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal labor regulations and agencies. Ability to respond to complaints/inquiries from regulatory agencies. Education Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related/relevant degree.
