Overview:
The HR Generalist is an important member of our HR Team, providing essential people support to the HR team as well as to employees and managers.
This function is a seasoned professional in the Human Resources Generalist discipline, who works independently to interpret and explain human resources policies, assisting HRBPs and managers in addressing a broad range of HR topics, from performance, talent, recognition, to talent acquisition support, total rewards, policies throughout the full employee lifecycle. The scope may encompass both operational and transactional tasks as well as complex HR work, such as projects,
The role incumbent supports with employee relations topic and assists Total Rewards, Talent, and Labor relations experts, as needed. Ensures full compliance within local laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as trusted advisor to employees and managers on people-related queries, providing adequate advice and guidance;
- Addresses moderately complex to complex HR-related inquiries for the assigned scope or geography;
- Conducts HR-related investigations and outlines the applicable (corrective) actions that are mandated by HR policy;
- Ensures continued improvement of people processes and share best practices;
- Works on routine to moderately complex employee relations issues, involving Labor Relations specialists as required to identify best solution for employees or managers;
- Work or support with co-determination topics and/or Employee Representative groups (Works Councils) as required. Hereunder, formal hearings, WC-agreements etc.;
- Support employees and manger on talent and performance management topics, such as process advise, as well as employee performance challenges and recognition topics;
- Executes the termination process to ensure smooth employee separations. Conducts exit interviews and documents input, prepares reports;
- Manages and ensures the safekeeping of candidate and employee information in a variety of HR information systems, including paper and electronic records;
- Reviews and analyzes statistical reports and personnel-related data, such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates; ensures the data is kept up to date;
- Provides recommendations on compensation actions in line with compensation practices and approval matrix;
- Provides employee or manager communications to people-related topics, as instructed by the HR Leadership;
- Can act as coach or trainer on people processes or practices for both employees and managers
- Supports as required with the recruiting process, manages on-boarding, and orientation of new employees to ensure the timely and effective staffing of temporary, hourly, and salaried positions, including support with organization and participation in employee or candidate events (job fares etc.);
- Adheres to and ensures application and compliance of HR processes and polices;
- Anticipates customer needs, based on regular calendars or activities, and works proactively to fulfil the tasks;
- Assists with any other job-related activities
Qualifications:
- Studies or equivalent qualification in a people-related field (social, economic etc.);
- Ability to work effectively in a team and influence others at various levels in a diverse and dynamic work environment,
- A genuine passion for people, organizations, and interest in related systems;
- Ability to deal with people throughout the employee lifecycle with the adequate responsiveness;
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at various levels of the organization;
- Strong ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the organization, solution oriented and analytical skills;
- Excellent knowledge of human resource as well as labor relation practices;
- User of people analytic tools, strong reporting ability and people-numbers/KPIs affinity;
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with utmost discretion;
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems, MS Office Package especially Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
