POSITION OVERVIEW The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the HR department by managing day-to-day HR activities, supporting recruitment processes, handling employee relations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES
- Manage and respond to HR-related tickets using JIRA.
- Conduct regular floor walks to engage with employees and address any concerns.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating company meetings and events.
- Provide support in the recruitment process, including scheduling interviews and managing candidate communications.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of the company newsletter.
- Manage 401k enrollments and updates; maintain HR information systems.
- Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Handle unemployment claims and verification of employment requests.
- Oversee and coordinate safety training programs.
- Administer employee service award programs.
- Conduct salary surveys and analyze compensation data to ensure competitive pay structures.
- Manage relationships with contractors, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
- Administer leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Handle worker's compensation claims and related documentation.
- Maintain OSHA logs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate employee benefit enrollments and changes.
- Develop, update, and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) for employees as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Basic understanding of labor laws and regulations.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on employee support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
