Located in Syracuse, NYMore Information about this Job:JOB TITLE: Human Resources GeneralistLOCATION: Central, NYFLSA: Exempt$60k and up starting salary, based on experience! POSITION SUMMARY: Under direction of the Senior Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Managers, the Human Resources Generalist provides support for the New York State operations including assisting with investigations, documentation, reporting, and labor relations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for maintenance and management of all Workday transactions for NYS operations. Including, but not limited to terminations, promotions, demotions, status changes, union updates and corrections
  • Monthly reporting and ad hoc reporting of employee demographics for HR and operational leadership
  • Assists HR Managers with union-specific needs, including regular reporting, information requests and grievance preparation. Attendance in Labor Management meetings and Union negotiations as needed
  • Maintains electronic and paper employee files
  • Responds to employment verifications and legal requests for employee information, including unemployment information
  • Reporting and tracking of field sponsorship and education programs (Earn While You Learn programs, Paramedic & AEMT sponsorships)
  • Tracks, reports, and processes all sign-on bonuses and stipends
  • Assists with CAAS accreditation and DOH inspections
  • Works with the Operations and HR managers to coordinate annual performance and merit process
  • Participates in investigation meetings of employee issues with Operation leadership
  • Point of contact for Central NY operations employees for questions regarding leave management application process, including NYS STD and Paid Family Leave
  • Supports the local and corporate recruiting team. Maintains HR New Employee Orientation presentation and updates as necessary
  • Works with HR Managers on Corporate Required Annual Training process. Tracking, reporting, drafting & communicating corrective action. Manages administrative leave of absence process as needed
  • Travels to New York State operations within Central New York regularly, other NYS operations as needed
  • Complies with all employment laws and supports affirmative action/equal opportunity needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Licensing/Certification:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience within Human Resources or related experience required
  • Experience with unionized workforce preferred
  • Experience within healthcare field preferred
