SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The HR Manager oversees all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes at the site location. They will support business needs and the implementation of company strategy and objectives. This position is responsible for driving engagement and supporting/creating initiatives for employees to contribute a high-performance culture. The HR Manager role will also support North American HR projects and initiatives as needed.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational capability and drive culture in alignment with business strategy.
- Diagnose gap between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gap.
- Participates in collective bargaining negotiations and ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Provide coaching and consulting to business leaders on effective performance management intervention.
- Advise on employee relations issues.
- Act as an advocate for employee communication.
- Maintains satisfactory labor-management relations through a variety of techniques.
- Help direct the HR and leadership team in its communications.
- Give guidance and direction to business leaders on human resource management policies, processes and systems.
- Deliver strong leadership and direction to the HR team in support of a business partnership relationship with the organization.
- Ensure business processes comply with local, state and federal legal requirements in the areas of employment and employment administration.
- Drive ethical practices and adherence to company core values throughout the organization.
- Oversee site compensation programs and adherence to corporate compensation policies to remain competitive in pay practices.
- Promote positive employee relations and employee engagement.
- Act as the lead for talent acquisition plans in anticipation of short/long term business needs.
- Uses metrics to drive HR business improvements.
- Champion change management through collaboration and communication.
- Proactively identify potential people risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.
- Investigates problems such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, and employee and applicant appeals and grievances. Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to departmental officials and individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
- Bachelor's degree required. Maste'rs degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive Human Resources professional experience.
- Ability to understand, create, interpret and easily communicate policies.
- Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrates discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment.
- Knowledge of US employment laws and ability to apply legal concepts to real world situations.
- Strong business acumen and an understanding of how Human Resources delivers value to an organization.
- Highly organized and process oriented with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience.
- Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations.
- Demonstrated experience with using HR metrics and data to deliver result.
