HR Onboarding Specialists work under the supervision of the Talent Acquisition Manager to organize, streamline, and oversee the onboarding process for new hires into the agency while ensuring they have a best-in-class onboarding experience.Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the Onboarding process of new employees, including completing the documents verification and by providing access to resources from an HR, payroll, and benefits perspective.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact during candidates onboarding proactively communicating onboarding expectations and requirements needed prior to the candidates start date.
  • Communicate effectively as the liaison between supervisors, new hires, and HR department.
  • Continuously identify and implement ways to improve the onboarding experience by engaging with employees and bringing perspective on best practices.
  • Initiates and schedules pre-employment onboarding activities including background checks, reference checks and drug screens. Proactively resolving background adjudications and other items that would disqualify candidates from employment.
  • Coordinating and tracking pre-employment screening requirements such as background checks, drug screens.
  • Act as a resource for new employee's general questions.
  • Ensure all required onboarding paperwork is complete and filed
  • Works closely with recruiting and credentialing department
  • Manages electronic new hire Onboarding system.
  • Ensures 100% compliance with employment laws.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic database usage, as well as moderate level typing.
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills to problem solve and interact verbally with staff, representatives from outside agencies and families.
  • Exceptional customer service skills as work is generally performed at a desk and on the phone.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Performance/Physical Requirements:
  • Work environment is based in an office setting and consist of walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 lbs. and remaining in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Works flexible hours, which can include days, evenings, and weekends, as desired to meet the needs of agency.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required; College Degree or coursework preferred
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Ability to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test and drug screening.
