In office position - Hours: 8am to 4:30pm (M-F)Starting rate: $22.14/hrLocation: Mt Clemens, MIPosition Summary:Functions as an integral part of a service team by using advanced customer service skills. Provides support to the Human Resources function by answering phone calls, managing new hire onboarding, and providing information and direction to employees. Assists with functional areas as necessary including employment, HRIS, benefits, compensation and employee relations.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:The HR/Onboarding specialist originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.Responsible for coordination of the new employee orientation program and preparation of orientation materials (gather pre hire documents, complete I9 forms and background checks.)Maintains files, records, reports, and other documentation related to the work.Performs data entry and generates reports as requested.Educates new employees on HR policies and procedures.Responsible for student intern and co-op programs including:Processing of affiliation agreements and other requirements; obtaining necessary signatures.Arranges assignments to specific hospital departments when applicable.Determines type of orientation and schedules accordingly.Participates in departmental special projects and functions.Participates in performance improvement activities.Performs related duties as required.Qualifications:Required:Associates + two years experience or Bachelor's degree required.Preferred:SPHR or PHR certification
