Wytheville Community College is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the HR/Payroll Office. This position will be responsible for the office management of the HR/Payroll Office. Some responsibilities are but are not limited to the following:
- Greeting all visitors to the HR/Payroll Office;
- Providing assistance to employees completing documents;
- Understanding basic state of Virginia benefits to be able to provide accurate answers to employees;
- Keeping all files up to date to meet the audit requirements of personnel files;
- Purchasing supplies for the department and entering recruitment costs into the EVA system;
- Managing state training through the Virginia Learning Center (VLC) state site on topics provided in the learning center;
- Helping with the recruitment process;
- Reconciling leave balances through the VCCS HCM system;
- Preparing Orientation packets monthly; and
- Providing support to the office with special projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience and/or education equivalent to an Administrative Support Technology degree or other related degree;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ability to multi-task and work independently on tasks;
- Ability to provide a high level of confidentiality with personnel information that comes through the HR/Payroll Office;
- Willingness to accept additional responsibilities when asked; and
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Human Resources and/or payroll experience; and
- Higher Education HR and or payroll experience.
