HR Professional - McCalla, AL Two-month contract position Pay Rate: $31.25 - $33.65 per hour (based on proven work history) Job Description of the HR Professional:
- Assists in the recruiting, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions mainly with hourly and technical positions
- Conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
- Keeps record of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and termination
- Assists in the investigations of accidents/incidents
- Gathers information and helps in the preparation to reduce absenteeism and turnover
- Represents organization at personnel related hearings and investigations
- Keeps records of hired employee characteristics for governmental purposes
- Administers all company benefits plans and programs for group insurance, hospitalization, retirement, and vacations
- Assists in the training efforts of the plant through in-plant training and programs designed to improve team member skills in production, quality, and safety
- Knows corporate personnel policies and supports the same; improves plant personnel policies and may assist in the designing and formalizing local policies as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Intake Notes for the HR Professional:
- Primary role will be to assist with conversions; completing the internal recruitment process - backgrounds, I9, drug test, applications, etc.
- Will conduct orientations (up to 20 people at a time)
- Non-Union facility
- Bilingual Spanish REQUIRED
- Experienced accepted in lieu of education - B.S. degree preferred
- Friendly, good attitude, willing to learn
- Position is heavy clerical, but will require time on the plant floor to follow up with associates
- Excel experience at an intermediate level; MS office at basic to immediate
