Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Representative is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department in various administrative and clerical related duties, provides administrative support on all personnel matters, and recruit for hourly roles.

This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend and actively participates in safety meetings and trainings.
  • Always ensure regulatory compliance
  • Attendance is essential to perform duties.
  • Source, screen, and hire for all hourly roles.
  • Assists Human Resources Department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to employee requests and questions and promptly delivery of information for issues in need of escalation.
  • Complete check sorting, distribution and attaches applicable payroll stuffers, when applicable.
  • Conducts audits for various payroll, benefits or other HR programs.
  • Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation and assist with on-boarding process.
  • Assist with Benefit Orientation for new hires, as needed.
  • Assist Plant and Process Managers in managing time off requests for hourly employees by coordinating yearly distribution of PPT requests, logging approved time off requests, placing vacation calendar on bulletin boards and updating such on weekly basis or as needed.
  • Complete special projects and departmental initiatives, inclusive but not limited to: organizing company functions, research, trainings, postings, benefit enrollment, coordination of accident prevention surveys, issue/present service awards, provide support of plant teams, etc
  • Enters new hires, updates, and maintains Human Resources Information System records and compiles reports from database, as needed.
  • Cross-trained in HR functions: payroll, benefits, and recruitment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is highly preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • PHR/SPHR Certification is desired but not required
  • Experience in HRIS/Payroll systems and other applicable programs helpful.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must possess knowledge of Human Resources theory, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations regarding employment practices and standards.
  • Must possess knowledge of human resources theory, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of ADP/Ceridian payroll systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and compile and arrange data in a readable and comprehensible manner.
  • Skills in data processing operations, keyboarding, and accurate data-entry skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of maintaining record keeping and filing systems.
  • Organized, accurate and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to juggle a multitude of tasks.
  • Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records and reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs.
  • Frequent periods of sitting, walking and repetitive hand movement
  • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
  • Manufacturing plant is a large, open floor. Some areas have loud machineries, and some areas are wet.
