Position Purpose:The payroll analyst position will be responsible for all aspects of processing payroll to ensure a timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related reporting for all Home Depot associates in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam.
Key Responsibilities:- 25% Administer a high volume weekly payroll process utilizing a computer based system
- 20% Collect, analyze, update, and reconcile payroll and benefit data on a weekly basis
- 15% Serve as liaison between users, vendors, and I.T. to research and resolve issues
- 15% Create and implement auditing tools to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local authorities, and to eliminate erroneous payments
- 10% Contribute to SOX audit compliance
- 15% Frequently review error logs and transactions to ensure system is running as required
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:- Position reports to the Sr. HR Services Business Analyst
- No direct responsibility for supervising others
Travel Requirements:- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:- Extensive experience in gross-to-net payroll, state and federal pay rule calculations and payroll regulations
- Familiarity with Tesseract HR/Payroll System
- CPP is preferrred.
- Canada Payroll and Pay Rule processing is preferred
- Expatriate and Foreign National payroll processing is preferred
Minimum Education:- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:Competencies:- Solid understanding of payroll principles, practices, and standards.
- At least 3 years recent experience administering a complete high volume multi-state payroll process for a large company.
- Strong Analytical Skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detailed oriented and strong follow up skills.
