Job Description:
Directs the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance employee performance's effectiveness in achieving the company's goals.Identifies and incorporates best practices and lessons learned into program plans.Designs and develops HR training programs for management and employees.Develops learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides and lesson plans.Reviews evaluations of training courses, objectives, and accomplishments.Trains management on HR issues, practices, and procedures. Implements all property training initiatives, including but not limited to, new hire orientation, leadership development, guest service, responsible gaming, all hostile work environment, bullying, harassment required training, specialty training for new supervisors/managers, and any other requested/required training initiatives.Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.Actively search, creatively design, and implement effective methods to educate and enhance performance.Confer with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, surveys, business initiatives, and technology. Develop and maintain property communications such as training updates, and the training calendar to ensure team members have knowledge of property events & general information.Develops & delivers legal compliance training such as Sexual Harassment & Workplace Violence and union activities. Maintain trainee personnel records (i.e., filing, updates, required needed)Develops and conducts train-the-trainer sessions for management to support property training initiatives.Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.Provides exceptional guest service to all guests and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.Plans and organizes all Downstream Casino team member events, which includes team member of the month/year. Completes quarterly perfect attendance program. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.Assist in other duties and projects as assigned.Acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Downstream Casino Resort.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.Must be at least 18 years old or older upon employment.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience requiredA minimum of three years' experience in human resources with extensive training experience required. Previous management experience required.Must conduct extensive research and organize information into learnable material.Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and diplomatic skills required.Must have proficient computer skills.Must be able to communicate with professionalism and courteously with all levels of the organization. Excellent employee relations skills are critical in this position dealing with difficult decisions, employee problems, legal issues, and other delicate personnel issues. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public. Must be able to deal effectively and interact well with guests and employees.Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Must be able to foster mentoring relationships.
