Agency Interview Type: Both Web Cam and in Person Interview Job Description The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Analyst will support and maintain the organizations HRIS applications and modules. The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) is in need of an HRIS Analyst to perform support, configuration, and large volume data entry tasks in DOC Time (Time, Attendance, and Leave Management) and Cardinal Human Capital Management (HCM). The individual will perform back-end data and configuration work (much of which is very manual-touching individual employee time & system records), but will also be responsible for managing mailboxes with customer requests/inquires for systems access and other inquiries.
Expected Duration: While the PO is only issued through the remainder of the year to align with the cycle of existing POs, the agency will be extending another 6-12 months if we get a candidate that is performing as we expect.
Background Check: Candidate will have to undergo a DOC background check in addition to the normal background check process in Vector. Please allow for additional onboarding time.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Arrangement: Selected candidate would need to be able to report to the office as needed (meetings, etc.). They would have a great degree of flexibility in teleworking, unless performance concerns were identified that needed to be more actively supervised.
Duties/Responsibilities: - Supports the HRIS Unit, which may include large volume of data entry in both the Time and Attendance System (DOCTime) and Human Capital Management system (Cardinal).
- Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HR system users.
- Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HR system users.
- Managing mailboxes with customer requests/inquires for access and other needs.
- Audits and updates HRIS data fields as necessary.
- Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, and reports.
- Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and HR staff.
- Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Collaborates with HR staff and vendor to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
- Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience: - At least two years related experience required.

- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged typing (repetitive movements of the hands and wrists)
