Job Description:
Primary responsibilities:* Assist in formulating, implementing, and maintaining basic policies, programs, and techniques necessary to achieve company goals and regulatory requirements related to safety and environmental issues.* Establish and maintain close working relationships with safety and environmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory issues.* Establish and maintain close working relationships with department managers and supervisors to provide for and ensure that employees receive training and development in promoting a safe and healthy working environment.* Recognize potential HSE issues and monitor corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.* Develop and conduct HSE training as necessary.* Locate, consolidate, label and store waste in accordance with government regulations, coordinate waste removal and disposal with qualified waste haulers and disposal sites as well as all relevant documentation.* Prepare and file required HSE reports.* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation by contact with external organizations and bodies to be familiar with new developments in HSE.* Conduct accident prevention training and health and site-specific safety training.* Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions.* Monitor employee conformity to safety laws and policies.* Investigate accidents and incidents to find cause and assign corrective actions.* Assist with worker's compensation claims in the event of a workplace accident.* Suggest solutions, improvements, and prevention steps for safety issues.* Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement.* Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.* Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.Qualifications:* College degree preferred and/or relevant Energy industry work experience.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Ability to work in changing temperature environments.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* A good working knowledge of Microsoft programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.* A good working knowledge of NOV internal programs, i.e. CMO, Achieve, etc.Competitive Benefits (visit usbenefits.nov.com for more information about our benefits offerings):* 401K - NOV matches every dollar up to 5% of base pay and overtime for every dollar you invest.* Competitive medical plans that cover your entire family (yourself, eligible spouse, and eligible children) as of your first date of hire for as little as $139 per pay period (bi-weekly)* Employees and their spouse enrolled in a medical plan can receive up to $350 (pre-tax) each per year for participating in Choose Well-being Rewards* FREE preventative medical and dental care for the entire family (when enrolled in an NOV medical/dental plan and seeing an in-network physician)* FREE Basic Life and AD&D insurance (for full-time employees)* All regular full-time employees start with 3 weeks of paid vacation per year (prorated based on start date)* All regular full-time employees receive 40 hours of paid sick leave per year (prorated based on start date)* All regular full-time employees receive 11 paid holidays per year.
