Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:Hull InspectorPosting Date: 23 Oct 2024City: GenovaLocation: Genova, IT, 16129; Palermo, IT, 90139Contract Type: Fixed-TermDivision: Marine ConsultingLevel of experience: IntermediateRINA is currently recruiting for a Hull Inspector to join its office in Palermo, Italy within the Marine Consulting Division.MissionRINA Consulting is looking for a Hull Inspector for its Marine Consulting Business Unit.Key AccountabilitiesHe/She will mainly take care of all the inspections regarding construction of the structure of the ship.He/She has good knowledge of ship-construction rules and requirements during shipbuilding.He/She has a good ability in reading and understanding structure drawings.He/She will study the structure approved drawings.He/She will verify the correspondence between approved and shipyard construction drawings.He/She will study all welding procedures applied for the construction.He/She will verify the welding material certificates and storage according to the requirements.He/She is an expert of welding to recognize quality and defects.He/She will learn the internal procedures of the shipyard from the steel material storage, identification of the material to the completion of the construction and delivery.He/She is an expert of IACS shipbuilding construction standard.He/She will take care of the tests required during construction: tightness, strength, NDT: VT, RT, UT, PT.In cooperation with the shipyard QC department, He/She keeps records and follow up of findings and NC related to the hull structure and welding.He/She will report to the Team Leader.EducationHigh School Diploma/GED in Naval EngineeringQualificationsâ ¢ Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Junior Surveyor or minimum 5 years' experience in the engineering or survey fields within the marine industry or other applicable industry to their specialization.â ¢ Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and, before assignment, with their future work.â ¢ Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy.â ¢ Ability to understand engineering plans and have basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.â ¢ Ability to perform either new building surveys, ship in service surveys, Marine Management Systems audits, or testing activities and service suppliers/manufacturers certification.â ¢ Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and machinery.â ¢ Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.â ¢ Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.CompetenciesMAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS - Structure activities according to priorities, actions, resources and constraints.ADDRESS THE WAY - Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective way.MANAGE EMOTIONS - Recognise one's and other's emotions and express and regulate one's reactions.CLIENT INTIMACY - Embrace internal and external client needs, expectations, and requirements to ensure maximum satisfaction.EARN TRUST - Take everyone's opinion into account and remain open to diversity.PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - Promote commitment by keeping promises as a Role Model.THINK FORWARD - Capitalise on experiences and translate them into action plans for the future.PIONEER CHANGE - Actively embrace change and benefit from the new circumstances.BUILD NETWORK - Forge trust relationships, across departments, and outside the organization.With over 5,600 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries worldwide, RINA is a multinational player which provides certification, marine classification, product testing, site supervision and vendor inspection, training and engineering consultancy services across a wide range of sectors.
