Job Summary: Watershed Progressive, a leading landscape design-build firm specializing in greywater and blackwater reuse, rain gardens, and water storage solutions, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resource and Cultural Wellness Director to join our team. This role is integral to our mission of fostering an inclusive, sustainable, and collaborative workplace environment across our offices in the Sierra Nevada and Ojai, California.

The Human Resource and Cultural Wellness Director will help lead our HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. Additionally, this role will champion cultural wellness initiatives that promote employee well-being, diversity, and a positive organizational culture aligned with our values of water conservation and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract, hire, and retain top talent.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Cultivate a positive working environment and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and oversee wellness programs and initiatives that enhance employee well-being and work-life balance.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all HR practices and organizational policies.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven working experience as an HR manager or other HR executive.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Experience in promoting wellness and cultural initiatives within an organization.
