THE POSITIONBegin your career in Human Resources with The Department of Corrections; Field Human Resource Office 5! We are seeking to fill a Human Resource Assistant 1 position. This position provides human resource support duties to the State Correctional Institution (SCI) Houtzdale and the Quehanna Boot Camp. This position is physically located at SCI Houtzdale. If you are interested in starting an exciting and rewarding career with human resource work, we encourage you to apply!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Human Resource Assistant 1, you will facilitate compliance with a variety of human resource programs involving labor relations and provide clerical support to the Field Human Resource Office. You will review and maintain policies and procedures regarding the Employee Performance Reviews (EPRS), Position Descriptions (PDs), performance standards, Official Personnel Files (OPFs) and essential job functions. This position records monthly meeting minutes for labor management meetings and disciplinary conferences and serves as the liaison for worker's compensation and FMLA units. Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:* Full-time employment.* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.* Telework: After successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, you may be eligible for telework up to 2 days per week, with 3 in-office days; based on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
