Job Summary: The People Generalist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organizations human resource department. The People Generalist will directly report to the People Business Partners.
Essential Functions: - Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Manages all aspects of new hire onboarding via Workday HRIS systems to include setup, office equipment, operational requests and successful integration into the organization.
- Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation, as needed.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with companywide training and compliance, which may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, etc.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Schedules meetings and interviews as requested.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment : This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, televisions, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires auditory & visual skills and the ability to follow written & oral instructions and procedures.
Travel : Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years of human resources experience
