Handle routine HR inquiries and provide responsive and knowledgeable assistance to employees. Work under moderate supervision to verify and monitor certification status of applicants and employees. Confirm district compliance with state certification and licensing requirements.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:* High school diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills:* Ability to understand and implement certification rules and procedures* Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing* Basic math skills* Mastery of both oral and written English with the ability to write general correspondence* Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skillExperience:3 years clerical experience in an educational setting, preferredMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:HR Support* Handle routine HR inquiries to ensure a high level of service and responsive, knowledgeable support for employees and their supervisors. Explain HR policies and practices to employees as appropriate.* Maintain professional HR information database to ensure that employee information is accurate, current, and reliable.* Receive and process applications, including verifying completeness of files and notifying those not selected for employment.* Process new hire paperwork for professional, temporary, and contract employees including criminal history information, references, and other application materials.Certification and Licensing* Process teacher applications and verify certification with the Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC), universities, colleges, and education agencies in other states.* Assist principals, Executive Director of Human Resources, and Human Resources Coordinator in identifying appropriate certification requirements for teacher assignment according to SBEC assignment criteria.* Track certification, testing, and permit status and follow-up with employees to ensure completion of certification requirements within established timelines.* Research and maintain current information on SBEC and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) rules, certification requirements and processes, and testing dates.* Audit and maintain certification and licensing information of certified or licensed professional employees.Records, Reports, and Correspondence* Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required including maintaining a database of certification and licensing information for certified or licensed professionals, paraprofessionals, and auxiliary employees.* Maintain accurate list of contract types and distribute yearly contracts, letters of agreement, and letters of reasonable assurance to appropriate personnel as directed.* Process approval documents for both Superintendent and Board of Trustees.* Prepare correspondence, forms, and reports according to district standards and requirements.Other* Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.* Keep abreast of innovative practices.* Be adaptable and flexible in acceptance of changes in techniques and procedures.* Maintain a professional level of confidentiality regarding all district matters.* Uphold and adhere to safety rules.* Support the goals and objectives of the district and follow district policies.* Perform other duties as assigned.DUTY DAYS:226SALARY FROM:$43,223** Salary will be calculated based experience.
