- Must possess an Associates of Arts or Associates of Science degree related to human resources, business, management or administration
- Must have three (3) years' experience working in Human Resources
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, Business, Industrial Relations or a closely related field
- Three (3) years' experience working in local government human resources
- Possess HR certification(s) such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or those specifically tailored for public sector HR professionals
- Microsoft certifications
- Previous experience with NeoGov software

- Knowledge of employee insurance and benefits such as health, dental, life, disability, health reimbursement/health savings accounts, deferred compensation and COBRA, etc.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resource service delivery in a government setting
- Knowledge of pertinent Federal and State employment laws and human resources best practices including but not limited to the Affordable Care Act, Equal Employment and the Minnesota Human Rights Act
- Knowledge of standard office practices, equipment, and procedures
- Skills and accuracy in the use Microsoft Suite programs, especially including Microsoft Excel (intermediate or greater skill level) to create reports, employee documents and charts/graphs

- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to make adjustments to schedules to ensure time-sensitive deadlines are met
