Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides support for leave of absence cases and accommodations. Effectively supports all cases to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act and all related employment laws. Performs exemplary customer service and assistance to the Human Resources Department.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  • Organizes and maintains personnel records for leaves of absences and accommodations, to ensure that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are followed.
  • Update internal databases (e.g. Prospera, ADP, and Leave Tracker).
  • Prepares leave notifications, approval letters, and certified mailing.
  • Answers employee queries about leaves of absences and accommodations. Provides information in alignment with our policies and procedures, and in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, etc.).
  • Provides employees with the proper forms and documents, and assists with completing the necessary forms.
  • Works closely with department heads and employees to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review.
  • Works with HR Manager to approve and/or deny leave and accommodation cases based on relevant medical information.
  • Maintains appropriate contact with employees on leave and coordinates all aspects of the return to work process while ensuring fit-for-duty.
  • Collaborates with departments heads regarding accommodations, and involves SAP when appropriate.
  • Updates department heads on the status of leaves and accommodations.
  • Assists payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick and vacation day usages, and employee return-to-work date).
  • Updates and maintains all LOA and Accommodation documents and forms.
  • Covers for Orientation, and PAF processing, when necessary.
  • Supports with benefits, presentations, and enrollments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, by supporting the HR department on various projects.
  • Qualifications:

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

    Experience: Six months to one year related experience.

    Computer Skills: MS Office Suite, Web, E-Mail.
