As the Human Resources Administrator, you will work directly with the Vice President, supporting all HR functions to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, while simultaneously facilitating operational excellence and employee development.

About the Position:

The Human Resources Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting all Human Resources functions and initiatives. Reporting directly to the Vice President, this position is responsible for a wide range of HR activities, from recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration and employee relations. While this role has no direct reports, the HR Administrator works closely with a Human Resources Specialist counterpart and collaborates with managers across the organization to ensure effective HR practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to grow their career while making a significant impact on the companys workforce management and organizational culture.

Job duties and responsibilities: Include but not limited to:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, application screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation
  • Conduct pre-employment checks (background, references, drug screening) and prepare employment contracts
  • Administer employee schedules, time-off requests, and benefit accruals
  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and supplemental benefits
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation and exit interviews
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and manage bonus and referral programs
  • Ensure compliance with leave policies, labor laws, and regulations
  • Assist in developing compensation structures and research industry trends
  • Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and communicate changes to staff
  • Manage personnel records, including disciplinary actions and performance evaluations
  • Handle employee relations issues, including workplace complaints and investigations
  • Coordinate performance review processes and provide guidance to managers
  • Organize training and development programs, ensuring compliance with required certifications
  • Generate and analyze HR metrics reports on recruitment, turnover, demographics, and other relevant data
  • Serve as a liaison between employees, management, and external benefit providers
  • Stay informed about current HR practices and labor laws to ensure organizational compliance

Experience:

Qualified individuals will have a minimum of 10+ years of hands-on administrative experience in human resources, preferably within a manufacturing, warehouse, or shop setting. Experience in a multi-level organization with 60+ employees is highly desirable. Significant experience in personnel record management is required. The successful candidate should have significant understanding of labor and employment law and a basic understanding of OSHA and Workers Compensation laws. Advanced skills in building rapport and communicating across all levels of the organization are essential skills for this role. This position requires an individual with outstanding time and priority management skills, strong organizational skills, diplomacy and tact, as well as personal accountability.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or a relevant field is preferred, but not required

Work Location:

  • Springfield Plastics, Inc. Headquarters in Auburn, IL
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am 4:30 pm

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary Range $80,000 100,000 yearly depending on experience
