Human Resources AdministratorUTMC, a family-owned 110-year-old company, is the long-term industry leader in refrigerated semi-trailers and North America's fourth largest semi-trailer manufacturer.UTMC has six manufacturing factories - five in various states within the United States and one in Mexicoand a research and development facility in California.The HR Administrator will provide support in a variety of HR daily operations including but not limited to employee records management, recruitment and selection, onboarding, benefit administration, employee relations and special administrative projects. The ideal candidate will have HR Experience in a manufacturing environment, is organized and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The HR Administrator will be located at the Glade Spring Factory. This is an on-site position.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage recruitment, interviewing, and screening of applicants as needed.
  • Onboard new hires- set up and maintain employee profile, walk new hires through company policies and procedures, assign training and ensure set up in the Human Resources Information System and time-keeping system properly.
  • Plan and manage company events and activities.
  • Establish and maintain the company's online presence by promoting the organization through approved social media platforms.
  • Assist in the implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through written communications, and/or meetings.
  • Resolve employees' issues related to benefits, company policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct wage surveys as needed to ensure competitive wage rates.
  • Walk the manufacturing floor, at least once a week, to interact with hourly employees, build rapport with employees and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Assist in preparation for HR trainings and other plant meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager and Corporate HR department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field preferred.
  • Three to Five years (3-5) years of Human Resources Experience in a management role.
  • Must have experience with an HRIS system (preferably UltiPro/UKG Recruiting/Onboarding and PlanSource Benefits).
  • Demonstrated Social Media Proficiency.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be knowledgeable in (FMLA) Family Medical Leave and COBRA regulations.
  • Must be knowledgeable in I-9 employment eligibility regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS office applications (Excel skills are a must).
