This position will play an integral role in the overall success of the fundraising and engagement efforts. It will work in close collaboration with multiple teams across the organization to reach those goals.
The preferred office location for this position to work from is Vermillion - although Sioux Falls will be given consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources
- Payroll Administration: Process and verify payroll information, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments. Address payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies.
- Benefits Administration: Assist employees with benefit enrollments, changes, and inquiries. Support annual benefits open enrollment, manage vendor communications, and track employee benefit eligibility.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including orientation scheduling, documentation, and setting up workspace and equipment. Manage offboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions and compliance.
- HR Compliance: Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Update HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Employee Support: Provide information on HR policies, programs, and employee resources, assisting with inquiries related to company policies, leaves, and employee relations matters.
Office Administration
- Office Management: Oversee general office operations, including ordering supplies, managing office inventory, and coordinating maintenance or repairs for office facilities.
- Fleet & Vehicle Management: Manage the company's fleet of vehicles, scheduling maintenance, tracking vehicle usage, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Liaise with vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and overseeing agreements for office supplies, cleaning, and other services.
Administrative Support
- Student Ambassador: Oversight and leadership of the student workers.
- Special Project: Provide support and coordination of special projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience with an emphasis in the following areas: Compensation and Benefits Administration, Payroll Processing, HR Systems and Data Management
- Understanding of employment laws and compliance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
