Salary : $49,485.00 - $68,000.00 AnnuallyLocation : Yorktown, VAJob Type: Full-timeJob Number: 20HRAII(B/R)-1917Department: Human ResourcesDivision: HUMAN RESOURCESOpening Date: 11/08/2024Closing Date: ContinuousDescription Responsible for a variety of professional level duties in the Human Resources Department pertaining to the day-to-day administration of the County's benefits programs and retirement process. Assists with research, design and implementation of employee benefits programs. Provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs. Receives and responds to a variety of inquiries from County employees and related to benefits and retirement. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree with three (3) to five (5) years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Demonstrates broad knowledge of self-insured and fully-insured health insurance plans and various benefit programs.Demonstrates broad knowledge of the variety and structure of retirement plans to include defined benefit plans and defined contribution plans.Thorough knowledge of technology tools, including office software and spreadsheets for data analysis.Manages and administers the County's Wellness Program to include implementing wellness initiatives. Supplemental Information Administers employee benefits programs to include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits, deferred compensation, life insurance and other programs; assists employees with routine to more difficult questions regarding these benefits; ensures departmental personnel are aware of benefit issues, changes to plan, or requirements as they occur.Coordinates open enrollments and associated benefits changes; oversees the maintenance of employee benefits records through York County systems, vendor portals, and/or the transfer of 834 electronic files; ensures all benefit enrollment data is received by vendors and payroll correctly and in a timely manner.Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Physical Demands Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines which include a computer, copier/scanner, facsimile machine, etc. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
