Stavros Center for Independent Living is a nonprofit seeking HR and Benefits Assistant for its Amherst location, this is a Full time 35 hours per week benefits eligible position. You will be the go-to for Benefits information particularly during new hire and annual enrollment. You will be provide information regarding a Leave of Absence, while supporting both the company and employee through insuring all the required documents are completed. Maintains all provider databases related to employee benefits. • Organizes and manages annual open enrollment process including all communications, election materials and enrollment process. • Maintains and supports recruitment administration including job posting, advertising interview scheduling, reference checking. Prepares and deliver job offers to candidates. • Maintains human resource information system (HRIS) records utilizing Paylocity, and compiles reports from the database; maintains and distributes updated weekly HR report to indicate employee head count changes. • Manages Leave of Absences process including communications regarding; Eligibility Requirements, Required documentation; Benefits deductions and request for accommodations. Communicates with supervisors on leave details. • Prepares HR-related forms and documents including but not limited to all new hire paperwork, benefit packets and training materials • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. • Organizes and maintain comprehensive Human Resources Department files and systems, i.e. personnel, medical, benefit, worker's compensation, and training, automated or manual. Making sure files are complete and up-to-date; information is easily located in files; remove and archive inactive records or files. • Assists with other projects in the Human Resources department as needed• Reports to the HR Director. LIST OF QUALIFICATIONS • High School diploma or equivalent plus 1 to 2 years of Human Resources or Benefit Administration related experience required. • Prior HR experience in a non-profit a plus. • Knowledge of disability culture is a plus• Excellent time management and organizational skills• Excellent computer skills, knowledge of MS Office and database navigation• Excellent communication and writing skills to ensure respectful delivery of service
