The Hermiston School District is seeking applicants for the position of Human Resources Assistant at the District Office. This position will be part of the District's Human Resources Department. The district serves approximately 630 staff members and 5,300 students. Position begins immediately.General description of the PositionUnder the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent and the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will provide technical support and assistance to the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office. Assigned responsibilities require a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Required Qualifications (include but are not limited to):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, employees, and the public
- Excellent computer skills, including word processing and other applications. Microsoft Windows Office Suite Product knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
- Knowledge of efficient office procedures and practices
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to make routine computations and tabulations with speed and accuracy using a variety of business/office equipment and software
- Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons
- Ability to work collaboratively as a valued team member
- Outstanding customer relation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary coursework or degree
- Three years of experience in a clerical/receptionist position. Human Resources Department experience desired
- Experience and working knowledge of automated employee management systems (e.g. Frontline Absence Management & Time and Attendance, Unified TalentEd Records & Perform, eFinance Plus)
- Current Notary
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish)
Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
- Act as a receptionist of the Human Resources Department
- Knowledge of working agreements and Board policy
- Maintain employee files
- Perform leave accounting functions for staff
- Track jury duty reimbursement for employees
- Audit timesheets for accuracy
- On-board new employees including paperwork and trainings
- Process Employment verifications for lenders.
- Coordinate, proctor, and oversee WorkKeys testing
- Coordinate, schedule, and track home tutoring
- Process volunteer background check forms and maintain approval/denial list
- Management of archived student records

Salary and Benefits: The Hermiston School District offers an extremely competitive salary and benefits package which includes PERS retirement employer-paid pick-up and a comprehensive health and benefits package. A full year contract consists of 251 days (12 months), which includes 8 paid holidays and 10 paid vacation days.
