Our client is a reputable construction company on Long Island known for delivering high-quality projects and maintaining strong relationships within the industry. The company is currently looking for an HR Assistant to support their HR Department.

Job Description:

The HR Administrative Assistant will be responsible for supporting the HR department with various administrative and HR-related tasks, such as payroll processing, onboarding new hires, running background checks, handling some employee relations, and assisting with candidate searches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll administration, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and assist with new hire orientations.
  • Conduct background checks and maintain employee records.
  • Support employee relations by addressing basic HR questions and issues.
  • Assist with candidate searches and recruitment initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in HR administration or a similar role, preferably within the construction or related industry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HR systems.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information appropriately.
