Job Description:
General PurposeThe HR Assistant will perform administrative duties related to the operations of the human resource office and provide the necessary coverage for reception desk.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receives and distributes office mail
  • Primary back-up for front desk reception coverage
  • Schedule appointments, arrange meetings, and HR events
  • Maintain calendars of HR management team
  • Set-up for new employees (desk set-up, supplies, etc.)
  • Organize and take minutes during departmental meetings
  • Prepare required paperwork for employees under guidance of HR management
  • Complete termination paperwork and schedule exit interviews
  • Assist with organization of Company-sponsored events and activities
  • Prepare and update basic human resource reports and spreadsheets
  • Create and/or update documents, departmental forms, correspondence, and org charts as assigned
  • Management of employee files
  • Add/update employee records in various HR Systems
  • Assist other members of the Human Resources Department with a variety of responsibilities and special projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneEducation/Experience Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and able to monitor work for quality
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and respond to management direction
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping HR information confidential
Computer Skills Necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands/Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
Work Environment and Travel
  • Normal work environment is in an office area.
  • Occasional travel to South Hackensack, NJ local office may be needed.
