Examples Of DutiesProvides administrative support to all functional areas of human resources, including employment, benefits, compensation, training, recruitments, administration and recordkeeping.Provides internal customer service and assists employees with general employment and benefits-related questions in-person, by phone and via email. Maintains comprehensive personnel files for all city employees.Processes invoices for payment and reconciles purchasing card statements in a timely fashion.Prepares correspondence, reports, and other documents in a timely manner; maintains a variety of electronic records for the department.Coordinates benefits enrollments and terminations, as well as ongoing eligibility for dependents; participates in the preparation and coordination of the open enrollment period and meetings.May serve as the intake representative for city job openings including posting job announcements, advising applicants with respect to job duties and qualifications, and maintaining appropriate records as required.Assists with preparations for monthly Civil Service Commission meetings.Provides support for the new hire orientation process.Assists with front desk coverage during break times or absences of assigned employees.Responds to employment verification requests.Assists in the preparation for collective bargaining and maintains records related to bargaining units.May coordinate other projects as assigned.Performs any other work as required or assigned. QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school plus four (4) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the required work in this position.Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain throughout the duration of employment.Must pass a background check as prescribed by the City of Davenport.
