Position SummaryWe are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to:* Assist HR Generalists with staffing related activities such as background checks, reference checks, onboarding and offboarding tasks, etc.* Ensure accurate and timely information is entered into HR Systems.* Work independentlyand as part of a team, providing assistance wherever needed.Salary Information* The starting pay is between $26.00 and $29.08/hr (approx. $54,000 and $60,400 per year), plus excellent benefits.* A 12-month probationary period is required.* The position will be filled at either the HR Assistant or the HR Assistant - Advanced level. The level of the position and salary will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected candidate at the time of hire.* Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. Pay schedule/range for HR Assistant is 81/05 and HR Assistant - Advanced is 81/04.Job Details* All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DOA to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.* Employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high-speed internet for remote work option.* DOA does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have both of the following:* Experience working in an office setting providing administrative support (e.g., scheduling interviews or meetings, drafting documents, reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy and completion, responding to emails, etc.).* Experience using computer software programs to perform tasks such as document creation, data entry, report production, data analysis, etc.Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:* Experience performing HR activities (e.g., conducting background and reference checks, coordinating interviews, providing HR resources to supervisors, onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel files, etc.).* Using an HRIS system to process personnel or payroll.* Experience reviewing procedures and making recommendations for process improvements.The letter of qualifications is limited to one (1) page.
