This position provides support to the County Administrator, Commission Assistant and Human Resources Director. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement and paid time off.Salary: $46,447Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Human Resources:
- Assist with performing the fundamental duties for Human Resources including payroll, policies, and HR Laws; assist with Human Resources day-to-day operations for 500+ employees, including entering payroll data, answering payroll questions as needed, and running payroll reports as requested. Responsible for assisting with payroll and new employee orientations in absence of HR Director and/or Payroll Clerk; responsible for payroll for seasonal employees. Accept and organize all employment applications and forward to departments; arrange interviews for job applicants; serve on interview panels for new hires and promotions; send letters of rejection to applicants; scan payroll records
- Responsible for Workforce Safety and Insurance claims and paperwork
- Coordinator of EAP; responsible for employment verifications, insurance claims and paperwork; co-chair United Way campaign
- Coordinate and print orientation materials; update policy manual; inventory and order all office supplies
Commission:
- Assist Commission Assistant in coordinating general county business
- Assist with agenda preparation, including filing and scanning documents for meeting packets; take minutes at various board meetings, transcribe minutes in a timely manner, and format for distribution and publication
- Provide telephone and face to face support as the first point of contact in the office, including assisting with public inquiries
County Administrator:
- Assist County Administrator in implementing management policies
- Complete assigned work projects under time constraints without supervision
- Reconcile Buildings and Grounds credit card expenditures on a monthly basis; input tickets for maintenance requests; schedule meeting rooms
- Other duties as assigned, including assisting the Finance Office with meetings and elections
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of state, federal and HR laws.
- Knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to take accurate meeting minutes.
- Knowledge of benefits, payroll, Commission policies, and county policies.
- Ability to utilize various software programs related to job functions, including Microsoft Office Suite and Laserfiche.
