United Renewable Energy, LLC (URE) designs, builds and commissions maintains solar photovoltaic and energy storage systems. URE has been operating as an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firm since 2008. Our headquarters is in Cumming, GA, with project locations throughout the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. URE is on the lookout for a dedicated and organized Human Resource Assistant to join our team! In this role, you'll support our HR Manager with several administrative tasks and will be directly involved in crafting and implementing policies, procedures and organizational changes. You'll be the go-to person for communicating updates to employees, ensuring smooth communication across all internal teams. Your efforts advocating for the URE team will be crucial in maintaining a positive work environment and boosting the efficiency of our HR department.
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, you'll ensure seamless alignment between strategic objectives and employee management. Plus, you'll coordinate with the Director of Business Operations to optimize resource allocation. Responsibilities:
- Assist the HR Manager in developing and implementing policies, procedures and changes and communicate these updates to employees effectively.
- Complete administrative tasks and reporting requests assigned by the HR Manager.
- Assist with the management of employer tax accounts.
- Oversee fleet management, including maintenance tracking and documentation. Coordinate annual registration renewals and emissions testing.
- Support the submission of professional licensing applications and continuing education requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of queries.
- Assist with staff management, including reviewing timecards for attendance and addressing missing punches, employment record keeping and reporting.
- Support onboarding activities, including scheduling orientation sessions, running background checks and scheduling drug screenings.
- Support recruiting efforts by completing initial resume reviews to verify qualifications and assist with interview scheduling and tracking.
- Maintain employee records and ensure the confidentiality of employee information.
- Support the Business Operations team by reviewing and approving employee expense reports.
- Assist with processing company invoices and support as needed in with subcontractor Certified Payroll.
- Other tasks may be assigned as needed by the Director of Business Operations.
Preferred Skills – Not Required:
- Experience in human resources or a related field.
- Familiarity with HR software and tools. Paychex experience is a plus!
- Knowledge of Employment Law.

- High school diploma / GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Hands-on experience as an assistant in a professional setting.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens, criminal background and DMV checks.
Location:
- Primary work location: Remote from home office.
- Occasional travel to URE's office locations in Cumming, GA and Asheville, NC.
- Must be willing to work Monday-Friday during EST business hours (8am-5pm).
Salary and Benefits:
