Apply now and discover your place in the UGN team.The HR Assistant performs various administrative and clerical duties to assist the Human Resources Manager and other staff in operating the Human Resources Department at the plant. What you will do for UGN:
  • Serve as the first line of contact for all Team Member facing issues, escalating issues as needed.
  • Update and maintain Team Member database information; create, update and maintain Team Member personnel files.
  • Assist with recruitment activities such as responding to employment inquiries, contacting production-level applicants, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support all new hire activities, including administering background checks and drug screens, submitting internal forms, completing I9 forms and Everify, conducting new hire orientation, creating badges and MES, and updating phone directory and org charts.
  • Conduct and assist in departmental audits, including I9 and Safety.
  • Keep a record of UGN programs, including Training, Attendance Points, UGN Bucks, Referral Bonus, Tuition Reimbursement, and Bright Arrow.
  • Take an active role in the planning and executing regular Team Member engagement activities.
  • Support benefits by administering dependent verifications and wellness credit recording, and communicating regarding benefit issues.
  • Support payroll by submitting Agency Team Member hours and reviewing timesheets. Work with Coordinators and Managers to ensure timesheets are approved by the deadline.
  • Handle a variety of written communications and reporting, including safety rosters, birthday and anniversary reporting, organizational announcements and DMR reporting.
  • Handle office support including answering phones, greeting visitors, distributing mail, ordering office supplies, and ordering food for events.
  • Strictly maintain Team Member privacy and departmental confidentiality in all human resource activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you will bring to UGN:
  • Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 + years of HR or administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (UKG); proficiency with Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing plant environment is preferred.
  • Experience with staffing/recruiting/onboarding is a plus.
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish/English).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and can take on a variety of HR tasks.
