Job Summary:The Human Resource Assistant will support the Minot State University HR department by performing various tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations. This on-campus position provides high quality service and hands-on learning experience.Hours:* 15-19 hours perweek, flexible schedule on campus* Part-time, non-benefittedDuties/Responsibilities:* Responsible for supporting HR processes, procedures, and programs as needed and directed.* Runs monthly queries, updates HRMS as needed.* Communicates HR and Payroll-related information to employees, conducts research, and responds to requests for information.* Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of files and records.* Onboarding of adjuncts, part-time employees, and student employees. Serves as a backup in onboarding benefited employees and benefit enrollments.* Answers questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes.* Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.* May assist with annual processes, such as the1095-C, and Open Enrollment.* Keeps the HR Director informed and updated on issues, projects, information, etc.* Works on special projects as requested by the HR Director.* Provides office coverage, answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries, and provides visitors with appropriate information.* Supports innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and for the college.* Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.* Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.* Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.Education and Experience:* Associate's degree in related field required.
