Title: Human Resources Assistant (Temporary Part-Time)Department: Human ResourcesCampus: Hardin ValleyClosing Date: Open Until FilledType of Appointment: Temporary Part-TimePay Rate: $18.60 per hourWork Hours: Up to 32 hours per week (Weekly Schedule: M, W, T, F 8a - 430p)Position Summary: The responsibility of this temporary role is to perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the College's human resource department.Duties and Responsibilities:* Day-to-day administrative/clerical support:* o Staffs the HR office from 8a - 430p Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday weekly.o Provides clerical support to the HR department (incl., but not limited to delivering/collecting mail, answering department phone, managing general HR inboxes, etc.)o Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.o Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard HR practices and policies; refers more complex questions to appropriate level HR staff or management.* Specialized Support (Event Planning/Project Management):o Assists with planning and execution of special events (incl., but not limited to benefits enrollment, employee recognition events, etc.).o Assists with planning and execution of special projects (incl., but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, employee records management, training and development, compliance and policy administration, etc.).* Other duties as assigned.Note: The College reserves the right to change or reassign job duties, or combine positions at any time.Required Qualifications:Associate's degree in a related field required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.* Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.* Ability to engage in the college's mission and valuesSpecial Instructions to Applicants: To be considered for a position at Pellissippi State, you must create an on-line application.
