HR Business PartnerBristol, VA Summary:The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated geographic and/or functional business units. The position formulates partnerships acrossthe HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about industry and assigned markets, its culture and its competition.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Partners with Sr. Leadership of assigned business units to implement and manage people programs that are aligned with business objectives
- Responsible for full life cycle recruiting of select positions in assigned business units, with support from the corporate talent acquisition team
- Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
- Manages and resolves employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with HR leadership needed/required
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to company management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Provides guidance and input on business unit structure and workforce planning
- May participate in evaluation, delivery, and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
- Serves as liaison between business unit employees and HR centers of excellence (compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, etc)
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education/Experience:- Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
- Telecommunications experience, or similar field, preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience can be substituted for education
- HR certification preferred
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel up to 25% between Company work locations
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing via email, chat, etc.
