Note: The HR Business Partner will provide on-site support at both NMG Wisconsin, Wausau, and Berlin.

About the Role

Responsible for overseeing all Human Resources activities at the site, including staffing and recruiting, onboarding, status changes, safety, training and development, performance management, and employee relations. Serve as the main contact for site employees, addressing employment-related inquiries and concerns. Also, act as a point of contact for site managers and supervisors, offering guidance on HR policies and assisting in resolving employee issues.

Key Responsibilities

Staffing & Recruiting

  • Oversee site recruiting, including requisition approval, sourcing, pre-screening, interviews and offer process
  • Develop processes & procedures to streamline site staffing & recruiting activities
  • Onboarding
  • Develop and conduct new hire orientation
  • Develop processes & procedures to streamline the site onboarding process for employees and contractors, including set-up of all new hire requirements across various departments such as quality, facilities, information technology, etc.

Benefits

  • Respond to benefit questions from site employees and resolve issues when necessary
  • Collect new enrollment, changes, and terminations benefit paperwork from site employees, ensuring all paperwork is fully completed and contains accurate information
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment

Leave of Absences

  • Advise employees of leave information, policies, rights, and responsibilities
  • Process all leave paperwork & transactions between the company and the employee
  • Create and maintain employee LOA files

Terminations

  • Conduct exit interviews for terminating employees
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation

Safety & Workers Compensation

  • Lead Safety Committee and maintain site safety standards
  • Responsible for site Worker's Compensation cases
  • Provide employee with necessary Workers Compensation and/or safety information, ensuring they receive appropriate medical treatment
  • Conduct necessary safety investigations and prepare reports for the insurance carrier

Training & Development

  • Develop and facilitate training courses to improve employee development and meet certification requirements
  • Ensure training courses are compliant with state, federal, and certification requirements
  • Assist with career development plans and paths to support individual professional development and organizational succession planning

Performance Management

  • Manage annual Performance Review process to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the site
  • Review all employee evaluations and provide feedback to managers/supervisors

Employee Relations

  • Guide managers/supervisors in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Conduct investigations when necessary
  • Coordinate company site events
  • Implement HR programs, policies, and procedures developed by Corporate HR
  • Respond to audit requests related to HR
  • Participate in site committees or special projects where an HR representative is required
  • Responsible for all HR-related documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent business experience
  • PHR/SPHR Certification a plus
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years experience working Human Resources experience
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
