Creative Dining Services is growing and seeking a proactive and strategic Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at our Home Office in Zeeland, Michigan! In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between management and employees, ensuring that HR initiatives align with business objectives. You will leverage your expertise in human capital management to foster a positive workplace culture, enhance employee engagement, and drive organizational effectiveness.Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Develops and implements human resources strategies throughout the organization.
- Serves as the subject matter expert in all human resources areas.
- Consults with management, providing HR guidance.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with employment attorneys as needed.
- Assists supervisors, managers and department directors in determining appropriate staffing needs.
- Assists in the development and implementation of equitable compensation programs and practices.
- Performs compensation studies.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Assists with the development and implementation of effective training and development practices, ensuring that new employees receive effective training to ensure success on the job.
- Assists with a variety of training initiatives throughout the organization, including the development and delivery of programming to management and hourly employees.
- Assists with leaves of absence, including FMLA and ADA.
- Collects, compiles and analyzes human resources data required for the evaluation of human resources policies, practices and programs.
- Collects, compiles and prepares standard reports of operating cost data for human resources programs.
- Receives and responds to questions from employees regarding human resources policies and procedures and the interpretation and application thereof.
- Processes and tracks documents in order to ensure appropriate completion of transactions.
- Researches issues in human resources using a variety of internal and external resources and prepares reports and recommendations.
- Prepares recommendations with respect to the initiation of new and/or revision of existing policies, practices and programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands/Work EnvironmentThe position involves working in an office environment with responsibility to operate standard office equipment and technology. May require extended working hours at times. Some travel involved, including local, regional and national travel. - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management, or a related field required.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources administration, preferably in the hospitality field required.
- Prior experience in recruitment required.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Google applications and HRIS required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
- An equivalent combination of educational and professional experience may be considered.
- PHR/SPHR or other related certification preferred.
