About the Role:
In this role, you'll be an essential part of our team, building relationships across the organization, and helping make Foamcraft a place people love to work. Reporting through the HR leadership team and indirectly to assigned Plant Managers, you'll provide hands-on support to our Goshen and Elkhart locations, offering guidance on employee relations, helping onboard new team members, and supporting the daily needs of our people. You'll work closely with plant leaders, create a positive work environment, and contribute ideas to keep our employees happy, engaged, and thriving.
What You'll Do:
- Employee Support: You'll be the go-to person for local people needs, offering guidance, a listening ear, and practical support on day-to-day matters, from performance coaching to career development.
- Hiring & Onboarding: Help us bring in new team members who are just the right fit! You'll support the hiring process and create a welcoming, seamless onboarding experience to set new hires up for success, with a focus on building our employer brand in the local community.
- Timekeeping & Payroll: Work with our plant teams to ensure timecards are accurate, handle payroll needs, and help address any questions from employees.
- Benefits & Leave Assistance: Be a friendly and knowledgeable resource for employees looking to understand and enroll in benefits, and support them through any leave processes with care.
- Safety & Training: Help keep our workplace safe by assisting with safety initiatives, leading the plant safety committee, and supporting training efforts.
- Employee Engagement: Lead plant-level activities that bring people together, increase engagement, and contribute to a strong sense of belonging.
Who You Are:
- A natural people person with a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of HR experience, especially in employee relations and business unit support.
- Known for your attention to detail, discretion, and strong organizational skills.
- An excellent communicator who enjoys connecting with people at every level.
- Genuinely interested in understanding our business and skilled at connecting the dots between people operations and business needs, ensuring they work together seamlessly.
- Someone who can geek out over maintaining a thorough understanding of employment laws and regulatory standards and focuses on ensuring processes are compliant, without losing sight of the people within the process.
- HR certification is a plus!
