Job Description: Champlain College's People Center seeks a high energy, dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP). The HRBP will provide strategic HR advice and guidance on a range of people-related issues including talent acquisition, compensation, organizational structure and development, and employee relations. The business area focus for the first year will be Academic Affairs.Champlain is known for its fast-paced, engaged and innovative culture. The ideal candidate will bring HR expertise combined with an ability to resolve issues employing both human and data-driven perspectives.Critical Functions:
  • Build strong relationships with faculty, employees and leadership to understand strategic goals and challenges and discuss concerns, brainstorm solutions and navigate complex situations.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends and make data driven recommendations.
  • Utilize available HR technology to foster streamlined operations and collaboration.
  • Improve employee engagement and productivity.
  • Minimize legal and compliance risks.
  • Create a sense of belonging at Champlain College as we strive to be more diverse, equitable and inclusive.
  • Tailor professional development and training initiatives for managers and employees.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in higher education with a proven track record in talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree in Human Resources Management, MBA, policy or a related field is preferred.
  • HR certificates from SHRM and HRCI are preferred.
  • Expertise in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assertiveness and commitment to take on responsibility and familiarize yourself with new tasks and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees, faculty, and staff.
