Job Description:

This is a six month contract with likelihood to extend or convert to FTE. The position is based in Berkeley, CA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Coordinator to join our clients dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will support various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. This role is crucial in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring the efficient operation of HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment Support: Assist in job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparation of offer letters, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.
  • HR Policies and Procedures: Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures; communicate changes and updates to employees.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and employee development initiatives, including tracking attendance and feedback.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations; assist in audits and reporting requirements.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including preparing reports, managing calendars, and organizing HR events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR support role or similar capacity.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
