Purpose of Classification:

The Human Resources Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role assists in administering employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resource Coordinator makes that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are typical for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Customer Service and Administrative Support

* Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries by screening visitors, answering telephone calls, monitoring emails, and managing the Human Resources Dashboard.

* Utilize judgment and interpret policies, rules, procedures, and ordinances to provide accurate responses.

* Perform clerical functions, including making photocopies, mailing, scanning, emailing documents, and uploading records to personnel files.

* Schedule meetings, interviews, and coordinate other HR-related events as requested.

Recruitment and Onboarding

* Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, tracking candidate status in the HRIS, and coordinating interviews.

* Respond to candidates with follow-up letters and updates at the end of the recruiting process.

* Conduct background checks for new employees and ensure proper documentation is collected.

* Complete and verify Forms I-9, maintain I-9 documentation, and prepare new employee files.

Employee Benefits and Wellness

* Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.

* Process documentation through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.

* Reconcile benefits statements and address discrepancies.

* Coordinate employee recognition and wellness events.

Leave Management and Risk Claims

* Assist with managing FMLA, STD paperwork, and leave requests.

* Receive first reports of injury, submit claims documentation to the Worker's Compensation vendor, and maintain an active list of employees on leave.

* Perform initial intake of risk claims, document claims with the insurance carrier, and maintain a comprehensive list of active claims.

HR Systems and Data Management

* Maintain HR systems, including ADP Workforce Now and Time & Attendance.

* Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Performance and Termination Support

* Assist in the preparation and administration of the employee performance review process.

* Support the termination process, ensuring compliance with policies and proper documentation.

Additional Functions:

* Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Associate's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.

* Two (2) years of related experience required.

* Must pass post-offer criminal background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with ADP & Enhanced Time.

Specific License or Certification Required:

* Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver, and control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and materials used in performing essential functions.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires utilizing reference, descriptive, and advisory data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs.

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.

Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment and decisiveness and report any critical and unexpected situations involving moderate risk to the organization.

ADA Compliance:

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects and materials up to 50 pounds. Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require perceiving and discriminating sounds and visual cues or signals. Some jobs require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
